About Me

Chris Philley is an attorney practicing family law in Central Texas.

Chris Philley

Chris Philley was born in Toronto, Canada-- where he lived until he was 12 years-old and his family moved to Amarillo, Texas.  Chris graduated from Amarillo High School in 2003 and attended Amarillo College, graduating from the Honors Program there in 1 year.  Chris transferred his sophomore year to the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Government and a minor in History.

While at the University of Texas Chris began his work in the Austin legal industry working as a runner in 2006.  Chris attended Baylor Law School, graduating in February 2010 and passing the February 2010 Bar exam.  Chris was a member of the Dean's List each year at Baylor, and Chris was a Barrister in the Strasburger and Price Moot Court Competition.

Chris was licensed in May of 2010, and began work practicing civil litigation, family and criminal law. Chris chose Baylor University School of Law due to the emphasis placed on litigation and practice based approach to law school.  This is something he relied heavily on in his early years of practice – including winning an appeal from a divorce case which went all the way to the Supreme Court. Chris handled multiple trials, including divorces, in his first years out of law school. Chris was even recommended for a special trial college by a judge due to his advocacy in Court.

Chris enjoys guitar, golf, hockey, and Texas Longhorn sports.  He also enjoys taking advantage of all the things to eat, see, and do in Austin.

If you are in need of an attorney to help with a family law issue, please contact Weinman & Associates, P.C., and ask for Chris!
